Assistant Accountant

We are now recruiting for an Assistant Accountant.  This is a permanent position.  The successful candidate will be part of the Finance Team and will be based in the head office for the Connolly’s RED MILLS Group, in Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny.  The Group comprises many trading companies as well as it’s sub brand businesses, Foran Healthcare and Carr & Day & Martin.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of the Finance Team of 18
  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations for a number of Companies in the Group
  • Assisting in preparing monthly accounts for oversea subsidiaries
  • Assisting with and playing a vital role in the year-end financial audit
  • Assisting with Tax queries
  • To prepare ad hoc reports, as and when required by management
  • To assist with ad hoc projects within your range of skill and experience

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field/ Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Assistant, Administrator or similar role
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Organised and ability to prioritise individual workloads according to deadlines
  • Good attention to detail and understanding of the P2P process from PO, GR/IR, invoice processing, creditors payments and accruals
  • Experienced excel user
